    Raging Bull vs GPen

After his loss I think he should redeem himself by fighting at 118 (still) and ask GPen to come down from 122 (after the JuanMa loss). Good redeeming matches for both fighters who just recently lost. The loser here will get banish forever...

Either GPen boxes holes around Vic, or Vic decapitating GPen's head.

    Your thoughts?

Anyone with a good amount of pop and good accuracy can knock Vic out because, they can just use vic's awful balance and momentum when hitting him much like what Donaire did. In other words (Check shots)

Arce is almost the same brawler as Vic so I don't see any difference in that. And no, I think Vic hits harder than JuanMa P4P IMO.

                Fearless vs. Raging Bull
                By Edri K. Aznar

TWO-DIVISION world champion Gerry “Fearless” Peņalosa wants the best fights out there before he retires and has set his sights on one of the biggest draws in the lower weight divisions—WBC, IBF and WBA super flyweight king Vic “The Raging Bull” Darchinyan.

Peņalosa only has a few more fights left before he retires and he wants to face Darchinyan in Top Rank’s boxing extravaganza tentatively scheduled on Aug. 29 at the Araneta Coliseum.

“Negotiations are still ongoing with Darchinyan,” Rex “Wakee” Salud told Sun.Star in an interview yesterday.

The 36-year-old Peņalosa originally wanted former world champions Eric Morel, Jorge Arce and Daniel Ponce De Leon.

However Morel and Arce are already out of the picture.

De Leon, a former Peņalosa nemesis, is still a possible opponent for the veteran two-division world titleholder.

However, he is more inclined to accept a clash with Darchinyan.

“We have a problem with De Leon because Golden Boy will be asking for money. There is still a chance of Gerry fighting De Leon but our focus is Darchinyan,” Salud said.

Salud believes that Peņalosa will be in for a difficult fight against Darchinyan because of the 33-year-old Armenian’s awkward boxing technique.

“It will be a hard fight for Gerry because of his unorthodox style but Gerry can take his punches,” he said.

Peņalosa endured 10 rounds of pounding from World Boxing Organization champion Juan Manuel Lopez, who is a hard puncher like Darchinyan, in his last fight last last April 25 in Puerto Rico.

After dominating the super flyweight category and defeating the division’s top fighters—Dimitri Kirilov, Christian Mijares and Arce—Darchinyan’s winning streak ended after he joined the bantamweight division.

He lost to IBF titlist Joseph Agbeko via unanimous decision last Sunday.

Headlining the Aug. 29 boxing event is IBF light flyweight champion Brian Viloria, who will be having his first title defense.

                  GPen would beat Vic..

only Vic chance is to KO gerry which is not probable given how gerry take the juanma punishment without tasting the canvass..

                    And here's another......hope this happens!

The Fearless vs The Raging Bull: Battle of the losers!

Another potential matched up in the making between two veteran fighters who are both coming of a loss against two young prospects in the bantamweight divisions.

There is not as much wear and tear for these two fighters as you might think. Both are two divisions world champion and both are warriors inside the ring.

Gerry Penalosa, was a champion at 115 and 118 pounds, has been boxing professionally an astonishing 19 years, an excellent boxing technician and a counter puncher. He has had 8 fights in 5 years, which I think is good for a veteran fighter at his age, he also had a lot of title fights since he was a flyweight. His most notable win was against a young and formidable opponent in Johnny Gonzales by via TKO 7 with a liver punch. Calm and a very patient fighter who time and counters opponent’s punches very well.

Vic “The Raging Bull” Darchinyan is currently coming of a loss against IBF Super Bantamweight Champion Joseph “King Kong” Agbeko, was a champion at 112 and 115 pounds and had 11 fights in 5 years. He is the first Armenian to win a world title when he stopped previously undefeated Irene Pacheco in eleven rounds to capture the IBF flyweight crown. His most notable wins was against former super flyweight champion Christian Mijares, while his most notable losses was against Nonito Donaire, the current IBF and IBO flyweight champion and like Gerry, a superb craftsman and a counter puncher. Vic is a former 2000 Olympian and now lives in Australia.

                    Style wise

Vic is a come forward brawler that stings bombs with his bread and butter left straight hand from the opening bell. He has been known to his speed, power and slugging technique to overwhelm his opponents. However, he has no jab to speak of and he usually leaves himself open for counterpunchers like Gerry and Nonito. He recently steps up in bantamweight division and once again shows much vulnerability against a sleek fighter. Ironically, Gerry is a sleek fighter who loves to fight opponents who always comes forward. Although he was previously stopped by an undefeated tough champion Juan Manuel Lopez, he was able to land clean punches on his own. Landing chopping left hooks and counter rights against the like of Lopez is really something that you can’t overlook. His bout against Ponce De Leon has been labeled many controversies by many boxing analyst with Gerry landing more clean punches but not able to dominate the bout to initiate the fight.

As a boxing fan, there are no more interesting match ups to be made for the fearless other than this one. We know that Penalosa is already 36 years old, but does he have the agility and reflexes to beat the raging bull? Vic is not as big as Ponce De Leon or Juan Manuel Lopez but he proved in the past that he can dominate a sleek fighter in the likes of Mijares and Gorrez.

With all the said, this will be another stylistic fights between two veteran fighters that is one tough to call. I just hope it will happen.
