    Andrew Golota Fight Moved Again!!

Golota title fight moved to May 21

    February 9, 2005,
Bill Wirtz isn't going to let the NHL lockout prevent him from watching a fight at the United Center. The Blackhawks owner said Tuesday he is eagerly looking forward to hosting Andrew Golota's heavyweight title bout.

The fight against World Boxing Organization champion Lamon Brewster has been rescheduled to May 21 and will air on HBO.

''The United Center is extremely excited to host this heavyweight championship fight,'' Wirtz said in a statement. ''This marks the return of big-time boxing back to Chicago.

''As far as my relationship with Don King is concerned, I might be 75 years old, but I'm much younger-looking than Don King at 73.''

The Cory Spinks-Zab Judah rematch that King promoted last weekend in St. Louis drew 22,370 to the Savvis Center, reportedly a record for the largest crowd to attend a boxing match in an indoor stadium.

''We want to beat that at the United Center,'' said King, who believes the UC could be configured to hold 23,500 for a boxing match.

    This is ridicolous!
First it was March 19th, then March 12th
Both dates at Madison Square Garden
Then they said it was April 16th, in Chicago Illinois

It is now set for the following date
    Saturday, May 21st, 2005
    The United Center, Chicago Illonois
    Don King Productions
    Andrew Golota vs Lamon Brewster
    For the WBO Heavyweight Title

Why the hell would the champ Brewster agree to fight Golota in Chicago?

It was originally at the Garden, but because of March Madness, they couldn't do it there, so now it's in Chicago. I have no idea why the champion would want to fight the challenger in his home time, doesn't make too much sense.

        Nobody cares
If you don't care, then don't post on the thread?

          Is Chicago Golota's home town?
And regarless Brewster wansts to fight there because no one wants to see him fight anywhere. If they have a packed house Brewster gets a good portion of the money from attendance.

yeah Golotas hometown is Chicago, and I agree, haha Nobody wants to see Brewster fight anywhere. I think Golota is going to KO Brewster early in this one, and finally he will get a belt

Golota will definitly knock Brewster down early, but if he pulls the "Black Rocky" **** he did against Wlad, its going to be a long night for Golota.

One things for sure, Golota unlike Wladimir will not be winded by the 4th round. Meehan had Brewster in trouble and had no idea how to put his man down, guarantee you if Golota gets Brewster in trouble the way Meehan did it's lights out for Punky Brewster.

Though I'm not really excited about this fight, I may attend the fight live just because we don't get fights here in Chi-town. I just hope the undercard is decent.
