What a lot of people don't realize is that the strength/muscle gains from taking steroids DO NOT completely disappear after their use is discontinued. A lot of the gains are lost, but a fair amount of muscle gain is kept.

So in all his future fights (including Margarito) Mosley has a steroid edge.

Perhaps Margarito's team were only trying to even out the odds in a fair way.... Maybe this was the only fight he had padded gloves in after all.... maybe they were just trying to even out the steroid equation...

Steroids mean you can recover faster after exertion - an essential ability for a boxer.

Plus they are usually used to increase muscle mass, which acts as a protection from hits, and aids in punching power.

some steroids have a short half life of a few hours (dbol) or days (some injectable tests) its so easy to get use in, in between tests, some like nandrolone (deca) stay in the system for up to 2 years

Steroids only helps if you keep on using it, If you dont maintain it then your body detiorates from it, It also has alot of disadvantages when taking it especially in sports.

Loading your gloves is a lot different from taking steroids.

I think many boxers use some kind of illegal substances.
