I really think Mosley has gotten to the point of where he doesn't even want a challenge. He just wants to go after easy money. If he beats Berto, it is to be expected because Berto doesn't have any impressive opponents on his record. If Mosley loses this fight it would be even worse than losing to someone like Paul Williams or Kelly Pavlik. He can kiss fights with Pacquiao or Mayweather good bye.

He called out Pacman and Mayweather but their busy so he had to move on. Shane doesn't duck anybody...except Paul Williams.

If he fought Paul Williams and got beat, it would look like he just lost to a bigger opponent, and Williams would probably be out of the division afterward. He would have to avenge a loss to Berto or retire if it came down to those options. That's why this fight doesn't do anything for Mosley in my opinion. I always feel like a fight between Mosley and Mayweather not happening is more because of Mayweather. But I'm willing to hold other fighters accountable along with Mayweather if they are avoiding worthy comp. Berto is not a worthy challenger.

I realize Paul Williams is not invincible and he can be beat. But I don't try to keep him away from other top fighters by making excuses about his size or marketability. Someone needs to step up to the plate and fight him so we can see if he is overrated by some people or not. Clottey is willing to fight him, and he deserves credit for that. But Clottey would get dominated because he is so passive with his punch rate. And even though Clottey is calling out Williams, it doesn't mean anything because Arum flat out said that he didn't want anything to do with Al Haymon and he hasn't even made an offer to Paul's camp. On the contrary, Goosen said he is willing to pay Mosley $3 million to fight Paul Williams. We already know Berto is overrated because he can't take a punch. He could've easily gotten knocked out by Rivera if his corner hadn't adjusted his glove. I'm going to call this a duck if Mosley ends up getting a lot less money to fight Berto.

big respect to mosley for taking this fight. berto's style is going to give mosley a lot of problems. this is not an easy fight. this fight does nothing for mosley, whereas berto gains eveything.

Even though I don't have a high opinion of Berto and I'm tearing the fight down, that doesn't mean that I'm a Mosley hater. I like Mosley a lot and he's one of my favorite fighters and I would likely be on his side supporting him if he fought Paul Williams. But it's obvious he is avoiding that beast across the room. I don't expect Mosley to move up in weight to take that fight, and if Williams can't make 147 then Mosley should go after Berto. But I've seen nothing that indicates that Williams isn't willing to go down to 147.

And the fact that people think that Berto would be a hard opponent for Mosley goes to show how overrated Berto is. Mosley wouldn't have struggled with Cosme Rivera. The only thing to me that indicates Berto may have a chance of being competitive with Mosley was the impressive way he destroyed David Estrada. But the Mosley that struggled with Estrada was the one who wasn't fully rejuvenated after those Wright losses. The Mosley who fought Collazo, Cotto, and Margarito will chew Berto up I think. And you're right, Berto has hardly anything to lose in this fight considering the reward. Mosley would be done on the star level if he lost to Berto.
