Wow that was FAST, I really really really like Sauerland! They get the job done quickly, they know what it's all about. Big fights for Kessler, now.
10 days till we will see how Kessler responds to a decent long inactivity period.
I don't know if Sauerland has anything to do with the pursebid. WBA should have made it a long time ago. Sauerland hasn't got Kessler under contract untill AFTER the Perdomo fight. That fight can still be held under the Palle banner if he wins the pursebid.
I believe it's possible that the fight can take place from 45 days after the bidding, so let's hope Kessler wins and escapes uninjured.
I think Ward is a difficult match for Kessler, so he needs the warm-up.
yeah kessler has looked a bit off since tkaing such long breaks........an awkward defensive style seems like it would give him problems if they were to fight right away....he desperately needs a tune up.....(is kessler-ward official?i very much doubt ward would want that match up first...)

Ward had the worst luck, since Kessler is the most experienced and accomplished 168lber in the tournament (whereas Ward is the least experienced fighter). But there are no easy outs in this tournament.
I think Kessler and Ward could meet again in the semis or final
I am happy about the november fight with Ward. It's about time the members of the US 2004 Olympic team stepped up.
You think about it and the 2000 team members like Lacy, Jermain Taylor, Viloria, Rocky Juarez, and Calvin Brock were fighting for titles 5 years down the road.
So I am glad Ward threw his hat in and wants to face the best.
How this guy is Mandatory I don't ****ing know, look at his competition, disgrace.
The WBA is probably the worst, but all the alphabet's mandatories are a joke. Jennings was rated #50 by boxrec when he fought Cotto for the WBO belt, and Lockett was rated even lower when the WBO made him Pavlik's mandatory. All of Erdei's last 10 mandatories (WBO again) were rated way outside the top 10 when he fought them.
But anyone who criticises Kessler for fighting a mandatory rather than be stripped of his belt is being ridiculous. If doing so would prevent him from fighting in the tournament, then he would deserve criticism, but fighting a mandatory so that he can go into tournament still holding his belt makes sense for everyone including for Showtime.
