What allowed the SMW tourney to happen is none of the fighters were HBO guys(who are guaranteed million dollar fights anyway) and PPV attractions.
Here are more realistic tourneys that could also be made
Heavyweight-Unrealistic, Kilts make 2 much cash anyway, top guys get shots in thin division
Cruiserweight
Tomasz Adamek, Steve Cunningham, Guillermo Jones, Gigory Drozd, Troy Ross, B.J Flores/Herbie Hide/Matt Godfrey
Light Heavyweight
(Dawson would refuse to participate)
Tavoris Cloud, Jean Pascal, Jurgen Brahmer, Roy Jones Jr(why not), Glen Johnson, Zsolt Erdei
Middleweight
Giovanni Lorenzo, Vernon Forrest, Daniel Jacobs, Hassan N'Dam Njikam, Felix Sturm, Sebastian Zibk (Pavlik on the way to 160) Winky Wright as alternate
Jr Middleweight- HBO has top guy(Williams), nothing clear yet, could be the best possibility in 2 years
Welterweight-HBO Division, thin behind top
Jr Welterweight- (Manny Pacquiao would not participate) Timothy Bradley, Nate Campbell, (Alexander/Witter winner), Marcos Maidana, (Khan/Kotelnik winner), Lamont Peterson THIS WOULD BE LEGIT AND POSSIBLE
Lightweight- Marquez,Diaz would not join (GBP has 2 many HBO Dates for them) cant see it w/o them
Jr Lightweight- SLEEPER- Humberto Soto, Jorge Linares, Roman Martinez, Malcom Klassen (after Guerrero quits again) (4 titleholders would do the job)
Featherweight- Chris John, (Steven Luevano/Bernabe Concepcion winner), Mario Santiago, Jorge Solis, Daud Yordan, Orlando Cruz
