Roy let himself get knocked out...he is a headcase now. You could see it in his eyes before the fight in the dressing room.

Originally posted by grayfistSorry Garret, i just can't get up for a mismatch. Johnson has been taken out by Hopkins, wasn't he? He needs much, much more than what have been of seen him in all of his previous fights put together. It's always nice to see a Roy Jones display his wares, but, he should have done a Tito (take on an equivalent of Mayorga) for his first post-first-loss appearance. I pointed out in another post I made on this site that we mere mortals have always been told to "Pick yourself up where you fell". While Tito is not exactly doing that (he's not after all meeting Hop but Mayorga), he comes closest. I'm going to watch the fight later today, but, it's not as if I'm going batty with excitement...besides, its free.
But, the way I saw it, it was less Johnson who made it a match instead of a mismatch; it was Roy. He seems to have lost too much of the Roy Jones we have known! Has Johnson written finis to one of the greatest Hall-of- Fame-type careers seen in our times?

Originally posted by grayfistI spoke too soon, so, now I'm EATING CROW! Who would have thought that a journeyman who had lost 8 of his 18 previous fights going into the Jones date, winning only 8, and managing 2 draws could have done what Johnson did?! Johnson taught Roy a lesson and in a much lesser vein taught me one too! But, the way I saw it, it was less Johnson who made it a match instead of a mismatch; it was Roy.
