Ali Funeka Wants Angulo vs Romanov Winner

Lightweight contender Ali Funeka (32-2-2, 25KOs) is ready to get back in the mix after sitting on the shelf since his close decision loss to Nate Campbell in February. Funeka, ranked at number 3 by the IBF, is hoping to land a fight with the winner of the upcoming bout between Fernando Angulo (22-5, 14 KOs) and Yuri Romanov (21-2, 14 KOs), who are scheduled to fight for the vacant IBF title on August 1. Not sure why he isn't getting the title shot (yeah yeah **** the IBF rules, I know them) instead of Angulo. Hell it should have been Guzman vs Funeka.

Yeah he is! A mini Paul Williams indeed. Should have received the nod against Campbell but home-cooking helps. I really do hope we get to see Funeka get another opportunity, very talented.

The South African judge had the fight a DRAW. I'm assuming Rds 1,2,11,12 to Campbell plus the Kd's. All those rounds were clear for Nate. I think Funeka taking the chance against a fighter he didn't need to fight deserved an immediate title shot despite the decision because it was so close. Moreso that Guzman who refused to fight when he HAD to.
