Against Hatton (who people later discredited Floyd beating for as being too small), Mayweather backtracked the entire fight and didn't try and impose his so-called size advantage that his detractors complained about.

He isn't the kind of guy who will make you pay for being smaller. He's too defensive minded.
Floyd was killing Hatton on the inside.

Has anyone exercised the notion of Floyd actually being weight drained?

            Just a thought...

JMM will end up like Paq in the DLH fight and come in at 148 or so, he still be giving up near 10 pounds. Though as stated while Maweather won't use his size to pressure JMM, the power difference will show up. JMM has been dropped, of course it was from Paq who I would say is more powerful than Mayweather even if both were at 147. This time though JMM will be the one being countered and I think he'll get dropped from the sheer mass amount of consistent power shots Floyd will land. Paq might have more power with shots that are BOMBS, but Floyd with just being bigger has more overall pop with all his punches and that's how I see the size being a difference.

And really, who cares if its at 147 or 144 he still chose a lightweight because he "called him out" while Mosley, Margarito and Cotto have stated they want Mayweater even before JMM did and he passed up 3 guys in his own division for JMM. Not taking away anything from JMM, but I don't see how people say Paq is going to lose to Cotto from just the sheer size and then its a non-issue in JMM vs Mayweather. I see a late round KO for Mayweather, 10-12 somewhere in there.
I don't think floyd has ever walked in near 160. In fact, correct me if I'm wrong but, even against DLH he was like 150. I think what will be a factor is that during his fighting days he probably walked around at 155. since he's been off I would guess he's walked around 160 to 163. which makes coming down to 144 a bit harder .

Let's see here! Did anyone watch Mayweather vs Gatti..... Bingo! Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Juan Manuel Marquez will be a duplication of that fight. Only difference is.... Gatti has a better chin than Marquez. Nothing against
JMM. He is totally out of his league fighting Mayweather. Sept 19th will set the record straight. Pacman and Cotto get ready, you're next!!! These will be the BIG MONEY fights Floyd will be looking for. Only person that I believe
Floyd will hesitate to fight is..... Sugar Shane Mosley. I believe Shane will be his toughest opponent to date and probably will give Floyd his first lost regardless of Shane Mosley's age difference. Since Mosley has changed trainer. Bringing Richardson into his corner has made a big difference in the way Shane fights now. Watching Shane beat-up Margarito. I saw Shane become a real man in the ring. He's always had power and speed. He's only been knocked down once in his career after a bad headbutt, but never knocked out! He would be a real nightmare for Floyd Mayweather Jr. in my opinion. I like both fighters. In my opinion, they are the two most skilled fighters, fighting today in the Welterweight Division. Go figure!!!

Gatti's naturally bigger than Marquez but I don't think he takes a better punch at all.

I don't think Marquez will go down no matter how high the weight is. He's one of the last TRUE warriors we have left in boxing.

I agree with you about Sugar Shane, however comparing Marquez to Gatti is blasphemy.
I think people are forgetting just how great (not good) Marquez is. Number #2 on the PP list behind Pac, a man he fought to a draw and a very close decision. There are people talking of how Pac will give Floyd problems but I seriously don't that. Pacquiao still leaves too many openings, to beat a boxer at the level that Floyd is. However, Marquez in my opinion is probably the most technically skilled boxer in the sport, as well as being a fighter who can adjust at a moment's notice. I look at Floyd in the same way as far as technical ability, he can outbox some of these dudes in his sleep. Money does have the size and speed advantage but to say he will role over someone like Marquez is a total lack of respect towards a fighter that deserves nothing but respect. Floyd needs to come with his A game on Sept 19, and judging by his past I'm sure he will.
