I think he is a thug. Simply because he has turned his life around and not been in trouble does not make him a good man. It merely makes him an honest man if, for nothing else, fear of the law is the only reason behind it. He's also a bigot a dirty fighter and a sore loser. Just because you like him does not mean others have to like him.

He may be a 'role model' for those who have already been in trouble with the law. But he is not a role model for all youngsters. It almost prescribes going to jail then starting your life. Yeah, he's paid his debt to society...blah blah blah. I think he's selfish and arrogant.

I remember one of the first people that fought RJJ in Trenton. He had a similar story. But HE was an affable man. hopkins is always talkin' trash and backs it up with cagey, unethical behavior in the ring. Feh, what can I tell you? The man is scum.

You know daggum watched the fight in super slow motion, and actually counted all the shots Calzaghe landed. It was a total of something like 30 punches to the head and body. Rabbit punches and shots to the back and below the belt do not count.

I agree with this post more than others posted.

But I don't think he is scum he is a role model of sorts like the healthy living and such but saying stuff like "A white boy won't beat me" proves he hasn't changed much from his old self.

Still a legend, awesome record and still winning against the youth, still acts like an idiot at times in interviews in my books
