        Yeah, a bit too soon.

I listed "shot" fighters awhile ago and tried to make it really obvious by mixing in fighters of a long-time ago with bullet wounds (Stanley Ketchel, Randy Turpin, Floyd Mayweather Sr.) along with more recent ones like Kassim Ouma and Hasim Rahman.

All these people said "what are you talking about, he's not shot, he's just a little past his prime"

Athletes are not robots who can perform the same way every time out and everyone has off days.....some more than others though.

Shot should reffer to when theyre really old, out of shape, cant take punches and have a massive losing streak.

Also people on here under-rate wins against 'shot' fighters

Lets say for arguements sake that a young unbeaten prospect fights some unknown with an unbeaten record with lots of K.O's. They manage to beat the fighter with ease via late TKO, people go crazy and say that theyre going to be the best p4p champ.

Thing is this unknown fighter probably has no boxing brains at all, and has fought tomatoe cans all their life and just swings wildy hoping for a lucky shot to hit (maidana/prescott for type)

However lets say they fight oscar de la hoya instead, and manages to K.O him late on. Whats do the crowd say? 'OH well oscar is shot.' So therefore it doesnt count? Oscar still has the same boxing brain and same style as when he was younger, he just physically is a past his prime.

Therefore a win with oscar would be more beneficial, as it shows that the propsect has the tools to fight world class well schooled fighters, rather than knocking out some south american brawler.

So next time a fighter beats a past prime fighter dont just say 'oh well theyre shot' they still deserve lots of merit for getting past their boxing brain.
Prescott swung wildly because Khan was buckled by a jab.
Let me guess, Barrera isn't shot either?

Why would you "hope"? Death is an inevitability.
