Why is mayweather considered the most skilled boxer?

Im not trying to say he isnt the most skilled i just havent seen a whole lot of mayweather's career to make such a statement.

What is it exactly about him which make people call him the most skilled

His ability to adjust and adapt is only rivaled by Juan Manuel Marquez and his defense and punching accuracy is unmatched in the sport today, Pacquaio is the only one that can be mention with him in the speed department from light weight on up, most people say he has decent punching power but I think his power is underrated... not to mention is supereme counter punching ability, he makes fighters now want to throw punches when they fight him... Some people go in a fight with a "plan a" and "plan b" when you fight Floyd Mayweather you need to bring plans A-Z... And if you think you're hitting Mayweather cleanly, then you're out of your damn mind

He does most things at a high level.

He's an accurate puncher. He picks his shots well. One example is the 8th round against Hatton when you'll see him move his body to get the angles for openings to Hatton's body, and then come upstairs. He has just about every punch in the book, and is effective both to the head and to the body. His defense is top notch. His footwork and elusiveness is good, but when he's in the pocket and within hitting range, he's still difficult to hit cleanly. He protects the body with his elbow, and slips/rolls with the head shots well. He breaks some fundamental rules (often walks back in a straight line to the ropes, often carries low left hand although maybe it's a trap since he does this more often against shorter fighters with lesser reaches) but no one's perfect.

One thing that I wish he did more was throw more combos. He's an excellent combination puncher at times but has a tendency to throw one shot at a time.

Whether or not he's the MOST skilled boxer is another debate but he's up there.

Yeah the lowered left is a trap..... but yea the only knock is the combination which has faded since his hand problems, he said this break has gotten his body back to 100% and he feels the best he's felt in 15 years so hopefully the combos will return
