    Devon Alexander

I can't wait to see the hometown kid fight Junior Witter in August. Devon has been fighting hard and has put in the work to finally get his shot at a world title. I have literally seen the kid grow up before my eyes. I remember when he was fighting in the ams and winning all the tournaments here in St. Louis and he won a few on the national scene as well.

With that being said, I got him OVER Witter in the fight...what are you thoughts?

I think Witter style is too awkward for him, DA gets caught and KO'd not ready yet for this vet. Not sure how good he will be in a few years though.

Devon gotta nice defense though. I see what you mean by Witter's style though. I think that will be a big factor in this fight, the two different styles. But I know for a FACT that Devon is going to be focused and fight his tail off!

I didn't like the way he looked early in his last fight against Rodriguez I believe on Showtime, he ended strong but started off a little rocky.

I have Alexander in this one... The fact that he damn near shut DeMarcus Corley out (and Corley has since proven that he still has a lot of game, beating prospects and getting robbed for his trouble) proves to me that he is very, very good, even at this early stage of his career. Plus, I'm just not that sold on Witter.

I am definitely pulling for Alexander, because Witter... is a bit of a douche.

Ok. Well I think that he will be on his A game. He will not underestimate Witter. But he is going to bring the fight to him. I can't wait to see it.

I liked Devon's brother better in the amateurs. What was his name Devard? Regardless Witter is a god opponent for the young Alexander. Devon lacks punching power and has to be more than just a counter puncher against Witter. Because of Devon's lack of big time pop he will have to outwork Witter. Tough fight to call. I'll take Witter by UD. Maybe 7-5 or 8-4. I think the best young 140 is Lamont Peterson. Peterson, like Devon, lacks the big pop but is flawless defensively and puts out a high punch output which wins him decisions by wide margins.

Junior Witter is so damn old he should be called Senior Witter.

He's not KOing Devon...nor is he winning this fight.
