What the hell happened to Mike Tyson...

Never really paid attention to his early career and I was watching a lot of those match ups this weekend. The guy was shockingly articulate and seemed unbelievably calm in the ring, looked like a completely different person. So my question is; What the hell happened?

    Money.
    Fame.
    Leaches (Don King, etc.)
Robin Givens & women in general.
    The death of Cus.
PRISON (spending several years in prison while in your prime for a crime YOU believe you didn't commit will fuuck up anyone mentally).

Add all that **** up and it's really not hard to see why tyson went from the person & fighter he was in the early days, to the person he became after prison. Two completely different people in my eyes.

Agreed & dispite all the stuff happeing in his life and attitude outside the ring, I'd have figured he'd have still been calm and collected in the ring, which clearly wasn't the case.

I think Tyson had all the raw ability to be the greatest heavy of all time, people consider an early twenties tyson to be prime, but if he hadnt ****ed up, and he continued to mature as a fighter, can you imagine him as a 28-29 year old, the age at which most boxers are considered prime. It would be difficult to picture him losing IMO.

I think the drugs he was off and on hurt him alot when he got older. Anti-depressants are every dangerous to come off and on alot and that combined with his other mental problems played a huge role in Iron Mike becoming maniac Mike.

I've noticed people have calmed down with hating Mike recently and started giving him some credit finally. Mike was if nothing else one of the greatest stories boxing ever produced and most people who don't even like boxing have atleast seen him fight and were impressed atleast once. Being a fan of Mikes is one of the greatest things sports ever gave me, to me he's up there with Jordan he was amazing.

All the talent to be one of the very best ever but he didn't have much of a head on his shoulders.

                Very knowledgable though.

He had a lot of stress and pressure that came a long with fame, and he couldnt handle it. He folded under pressure, but he was still one of the deadliest and most feared to have ever stepped in the ring.
