I think Floyd Mayweather Jr. was the greatest. Now seriously i do but anyway Ali was the greatest because he invented a boxing style which really worked for him and no one was doing it at the time. Like the Wright brothers, they invented the airplane. Was their aircraft the best ever? No, but yet they were the first to do it. Ok bad parallel but yeah Ali is the greatest of all time, since Floyd

He only fought old men, half-blinds, featherfists, welterweights, bum beaters and drugged fighters. Never beat anyone worth a damn. Sorry to tell you the "truth".
On a serious note, I myself don't rate him the greatest boxer who ever lived but I entirely agree with George Foreman who said: "Ali was the greatest man to ever box". There is a difference.

And Cotto won a fight for being the better person... I think Ali deserves the tittle. He's the most known boxing figure ever, that's for sure and he was indeed the greatest HW and generally known for being the greatest. Sorry Robbinson, sorry Louis.

That's what I mean. I don't think he was the best boxer ever, but I do think he had a greater impact than Robinson or even Louis.

Smith was 173-19 (approx. 50-5). Smith was unbelievable indeed. However he was 130+, not exactly comparable to overweight cruisers like Ali.

Ali only said he was the greatest. There have been many better HWs.

Why do you continue to keep repeating this urban myth of Foreman being "probably drugged"? As I thought we had established in another thread, Foreman being drugged is pure conjecture backed up by zero proof. And again to highlight the difference Vitali has a history of steroid abuse, fact because proven.
