Was Chris Eubank Prime when he lost to Steve Collins????

It was funny how Eubank was trying to duck Collins punches but was getting hit at will by Collins. What made this loss even worse is that Collins is that Collins is a pretty much a flat footed one dimensional fighter, yet he was able to beat Eubank twice.

What about Eubank performance against Cherry. There were times when Eubank showed off and Cherry landed some nice combos when Eubank tried to duck. Cherry was also able to clown on him in the fight as well . It was a good fight until Eubank cheated.

He was still a world class fighter but had lost his killer instinct after the Watson fight. There was also the thing with Collins' mind games which played on Eubank a lot.

no he wasn't, the fact you had to ask this question suggests you shouldn't talk about eubank anymore. the fact you said baldomir was better than eubank means you shouldnt talk about boxing anymore.

Exactly what I was going to say. His prime ended the moment he unintentionally ended Watson's career.

Granted, Eubank wasn't a shot fighter by the time the Collins fight rolled around, but was no longer the well-rounded fighter he was at midddleweight and his heyday.

I always loved how much mileage Stevie got out of his four wins over Eubank and Benn, carrying it like he beat both in the heart of their primes.

Im a big Eubank fan, grew up watching him, but i dont think he was as past it as some people like to make out, he was past his prime obviously but.....

Eubank actually had arguably his best performance of his career prior to that fight against Henry Wharton, he looked sensational in the fight.

He certainly wasn't prime but he was still a good fighter.

He was not past his physical peak but mentally he left something in the ring when he fought Watson. Eubank admitted that he did not try to finish his opponents off even when he had them in trouble.

He looked great in the Wharton fight but as I said, he had not truly lost any of his skills or ability, he simply didn't have that mental edge anymore. Collins also played mind games on him.

I don't think Eubank was ever unbeatable, even in his so-called prime, but it was plain and obvious that he was at times almost carrying his opposition after the second Watson fight.

Eubank boxed quite well in the first Collins fight and probably deserved the decision.

In the second Collins fight, he was horrendous.

A lot of it is to do with weight-making. Infact, almost all of it is to do with weight-making. He was regulated against Wharton and first Collins, unregulated against Schommer and second Collins. It's clear-as. Same thing happened when he was out in Portugal a few years prior and starved/squeezed the weight off in a few days, boxed crap, and then kept the weight down over that summer and boxed great next time out.
