Money from American cable companies simply isn't a necessity. Somehow Donovan neglects to mention that Chambers-Dimitrenko was televised in many countries around the world, and that Klitschko-Chagaev was one of the most watched boxing matches in the history of the sport (in terms of worldwide television audience).

Is A Heavyweight Revival Upon Us? Does Anyone Care?

The heavyweight division always interests me. I agree the division is getting better, and it's because the K brothers are cleaning it out. However, they don't entertain me all that much, so it's really a wash.
Still, it's important that the right fights get made at heavyweight to contribute to clarity in the division. The brothers are doing the right thing and beating what the division has to offer, even though that might not be great.

What really needs to happen is for the fighters and promoters involved to realize the economy is not what it used to be. They need to realize that where thy might have been paid $3 million dollars for a fight a few years ago, they might only get $1 million today. Its simple economics and requires a new paradigm of financial expectation.

With that riddle now solved, two new questions arise.
Is anyone watching?
And more importantly, does anybody care?
The Color Line Arena in Hamburg, Germany played host to a title elimination bout between two legitimate Top Ten heavyweights this past Saturday. Eddie Chambers was traveling abroad for the second time in nearly 18 months, returning to the very country in which he was dealt the lone loss of his career when he fell short against current Top Five heavyweight and 2004 Olympic Gold medalist Alexander Povetkin. and to answer the question...does anyone care bout the HW Div???
...well lets just say this is how I feel when Irealize the Klit Bros' are as good as it gets in the div right now...
