And there you have the Mayweather argument. Baldomir and a shot DLH. Thank you.Carlos Baldomir out weighed Mayweather by 13lbs (162 to 149 pounds)
and at 147 was taller than Floyd. Floyd moved up to 154 and fought
Oscar De La Hoya weighing 148 when Oscar weighed 160. Floyd has
been fighting bigger guys along with medium and short fighters/boxers
throughout his whole career, so what does size have to do with it?
Cotto is not even bigger than Floyd and his reach is shorter.Comment

you brought up weight and that's what I emphasized on
to show you the weight means nothing. Yes Cotto is good
but him beating Mayweather.........I would never Cosign that
and would have to see it but I know it ain't happening if they
ever fought. If Cotto beats Pacquiao I believe Floyd/Cotto
will happen. With that said though.......You can't **** on
Baldomir because at least he actually beat the undisputed
champ for his title and Cotto never did and is walking around
with a belt that he could have fought Williams for but opted
to fight for it vacantly by beating a band member. I think
De La Hoya at 154 would have KO'd Cotto.Comment

If you actually read the first post that I cosigned its argument was that Mayweather has had trouble with guys that come at him and that have the strength to actually take his punches and keep going at him. Its not just a question of weight. Obviously that is taken into a account but its just one factor. Its one thing to fight a bigger guy or a guy that weighs as much as you do, its another to take on an aggressive puncher that has movement, precision, etc...Neither Baldomir or shot DLH had all those elements and, hence, they unfortunately cannot serve as a measuring stick for whether Mayweather can take top-tier guys at 147.you brought up weight and that's what I emphasized on

Im not *****ing on Baldomir, but the fact that Mayweather beat him (By decision) tells me nothing as to whether he can overcome the attack of a Mosley, a Cotto, a Clottey, a Margacheato (pre exposed), or a Pwill. They are completely different animals. Baldomir was in the right place and the right time and much props to him for taking advantage of it after a mediocre career in Argentina. Maybe DLH would have KOd Cotto at 154. I seriously doubt it though for the simple fact that DLH at that point in his career wasnt throwing enough punches with conviction. He couldnt take out Forbes for God's sake. And yet, his fight with Mayweather was fairly close. An objective analysis of it would lead most to believe that if DLH would have pressured more with his jab he could have pulled it off. Maybe he wouldve been KOd but we dont know, do we? Its all mystery with Mayweather b/c since he's moved up in weight class he hasnt faced the best. Here's hoping he does and as boxing fans we get to see what happens.Comment

Steve Forbes fought De La Hoya after Floyd Mayweather Jr.If you actually read the first post that I cosigned its argument was that Mayweather has had trouble with guys that come at him and that have the strength to actually take his punches and keep going at him. The fight with Floyd was when Roach first saw Oscar couldn't
pull the trigger because Floyd made him gun shy. What I don't
understand is how can someone simply stop throwing their best
punch if it was working for him? Fact of the matter is that Floyd
made Oscar pay each time he let go.
Floyd fought the smart fight against a bigger Oscar at 154 and
you also have to take into account that Floyd had the gloves
Oscar picked for him and the ring and still lost? His advantages
still didn't work for him AND Oscar had Mosley helping him spar
duplicating Floyd's style? Weigh in all those factors and you can
see Oscar having some momentum but when the fight was going
to the 12 you saw Oscar's face and Floyd and Roger was laughing.
Right after Oscar stop dealing with Roach? how convincing
could Oscar performance be? Cotto is not a defensive fighter
and when he comes in he is subject to all kinds of jabs, hooks
and uppercuts. Zab made him pay in their fight but Zab didn't
have the heart or conditioning. Emmanuel Stewart kept saying
all Zab had to do is let his right go and Cotto was there and Zab
went gun shy......Who has the best lead right hand in the business?
I'm not trying to talk about what ifs, right now I'm just meshing
styles and Floyd trumps Cotto in over all Boxing skill.Comment

thats whats up Shane........forget that lil' dude and his big money chance.......Berto will get smashed.......Cintron is ALREADY a *****......so a couple of Mosley right hands or left hooks would bring the ***** up outta him and into the ring.........P.Will and Clottey will be trouble tho'
