like I said earlier...pac vs diaz happened for the same reason cotto vs pac is gonna happen. On one hand you have 2 in house fighters who Bob Arum can easily make negotiations happen. On the other hand you have 2 guys that bob arum really doesnt like and will make negotiation difficult. Arum hates don king and doesnt like dealing with King. Guess who promotes Nate Campbell? Also you have an example in your boy floyd. Cotto will take 35% when there is no way in hell Mayweather will. In similar fashion Campbell was the IBF/WBO/WBA champ at 135 so there was no way in hell that king would let mannny get the lion share in the fight. I mean that right there tells you why Diaz fight happened and campbell didnt. It would take a blind man not to see that.

yeah people tend to forget that boxers fight who they are told to fight. They have no real say in the matter and you would think some people would grasp the definition of a promoter. They own the boxers!!!

I'm not a fan of Floyd, but Oscar was #1 at 154 in ring mag and boxrec rankings when Floyd fought him.

Yeah..especially two greedy bastards like Arum and Especially King. I can just imagine King trying to spin the fact that Nate campbell is the Undisputed champ at LW and deserves 70% while Arum wants the same because Pac is
P4P the best fighter. Those two dudes dont get along for **** even though they are carbon copies of one another (except for king being and extreme version)

My original post said The Ring and boxrec and I'm 100% sure Oscar was at the very least #2 at 154. We weren't talking from Hopkins to Mayorga , but from Mayorga to Mayweather, which was 1 year.

I agree, boxers want more money from fights, no matter what nationality they fight against or race. It`s actually the job of promoters, not fighters ducking anybody. That would make some black fighters unqualified due to lack of fanbase, leading to less guaranteed money.
