david diaz was just suppose to be a tuneup for when he moved up to 135.

blame mayweather , delahoya and hatton for him not fighting those other guys at 135.

1. the david diaz fight was planned by arum before he even fought marquez. arum wanted pacquiao to fight a top rank fighter since his last 2 fights were against gbp fighters and arum shares pac's purse with gbp when manny fights a gbp fighter. that's why arum put diaz on the undercard of pac-jmm 2.

2. since it was planned before pac-jmm 2. that was before nate campbell had ever done anything at 135. nate campbell has 2 good wins. kid diamond and juan diaz. when pac-diaz was planned nate campbell wasn't even top ranked at 135 yet. diaz was ranked #2 by ring magazine at 135 at the time.

3. who knows who pacquiao would have fought at 135 if mayweather didn't back out of the delahoya fight. when mayweather backed out , oscar needed an opponent. he asked ricky hatton but hatton wanted a tuneup first. that's why oscar picked pacquiao.
