Klitschko-Haye: David Says Vitali Clash Will Happen

The proposed bout between WBC champion Vitali Klitschko and challenger David Haye is said to be very close, according to Haye and his manager/trainer Adam Booth. The fight will land on HBO but Haye's team need to make a deal with a UK outlet to televise the fight. Haye had a deal with Setanta Sports before the network went under. [details]

I know the BBC had links with Haye so they must have tried to get the fight on there, i don't understand why the BBC wouldn't want to pick this fight up?

Money. The BBC don't do boxing at present, and there's a huge hoo-haa at the moment about public spending (the BBC is publicly funded). Unless they got 15 million viewers, and Haye won (which is, of course, totally beyond their control) heads would roll.

Other than the remote chance an equally strapped for cash ITV might fork out a Sky PPV seems the only viable option.

If this fight happens, Haye can beat Vitali only in case he behaves wise, and tries to take the fight in the later rounds... I`m not delusional about Vitali`s triumphatic return. He deserves all the credit in the world for what he does in the "unsporty" age of 38, but he did lost some speed and DOES have the stamina issues!

I have mixed feelings about this fight: on the one hand i`m a Klitschko fan, but on the other i like Haye as a fighter a lot...

Good luck to both of them!

I pay my licence fee for great events like this. What is it going to cost them, a million? It's not to much for a great fght which will easily attract 10m viewers on a Saturday.

              The BBC are a disgrace.

**** the BBC. They supported Haye and Froch early on in their careers and have a nice opportunity to renew the relationship. Instead they would rather spend money on mind numbingly **** soaps and expenses for Execs

If it happens Haye is going to be quickly KO'd. He doesn't have the chin to stand and take a twelve round battering from the iron chinned Vitman. First decent blow that lands is blowing out his candle.

Defintley an exciting fight whichever way it goes.Would love to see this fight.Haye is confident . Even tho the majority think he's well out his depth you've got to take your hat off to him . He will probably need something spectacular against Vitali.
