To me boxing is my 3rd favorite sport behind football and baseball. But to me it's the most exciting sport. There is no other sport were you see two men just put their heart and souls for us. Unlike Ortiz lol. But i mean the media ESPN is horrible covering this sport. First my gripe was basically no special or tribute on arguello's death. That man was a legened but espn had to talk about brett favre. And the only time they want to cover fights is when it's a big name fighter. And they keep saying boxing is dying mma is better. But if they could cover some small fights like jmm vs. diaz a couple months ago that could get more people into boxing. I love boxing and always will it's just a great sport. Went to the cotto clottey fight first time and it was the greatest atmosphere ever i've been to football playoff games and been in the bleachers at old yankee stadium during red sox yankees and nothing compares. Boxing should get the recognition it desereves and so don't the boxers. Like Juan manuel marquez, b-hop, paul williams and so on and so on. Boxing will never die and by the way fluck mma aka gay ****.
my gripe with the media and boxing

Whaaattt? Baseball? How the **** are you able to sit through nine innings of that? I doze off watching the highlights on Sportscenter. -
played baseball all my life. Even though to a average fan there is nothing going on but to a baseball fanatic like i am there is something always going on it's a classic chess match. I know baseball at times can be boring but october baseball is the ishComment

yeah they need more fights on regular hbo period the ppv are ridiculus. I mean why was lopez on ppv last weekend seriously. He's to young and green to headline a ppv. If he is a up and coming talent he should be on regular hbo so people can see him. Nice picture exectutionor even though that man embarrassed my fav. boxer of all time- but at the same time that night he earned the respect and a fan with me. Man o man is bhop somethingComment

I empathize with you but the truth is (and this is hard to say because I really do love boxing) we are all fans of what is in terms of fan popularity, a fringe sport. Understanding this, for the media to make money (i.e., attract readers, listeners, and viewers) it has to cater to the greatest common denominator, and boxing fans are not it.
It may sound odd, but ESPN, FOX, and every other media outlet does not decide what to report on, we do as fans in terms of what we choose to watch, and unfortunately the common fan does not give a flip about this great sport.Comment
