JMM is a great fighter, but his defence is pretty crap (for an elite level fighter) to be honest

he rarely moves his head and gets tagged very easily in the early stages of a fight

he is a great offensive fighter, and he is a good counterpuncher is the sense that he can catch you as you try to attack him, not in the sense that he defends and then counterpunches
