    Curtis Stevens any good?

Only saw that terrible fight he had with Dirrell and then I went and found out he got stopped in a fight not long ago.

I bring it up cuz he sparred 9-10 rounds at my gym this past Thursday...to be honest he aint really do **** past round 5 or 6 and the top guys of my gym were lookin better than him. He cudda been pacing himself tho...idk

They did tell me he was good going to the body tho.

I didn't even remember his name when he walked in...him and Danny Jacobs have the same trainer.

    Is he any good?

He is a good gatekeeper and a b+ opponent to evaluate a prospect against. If your prospect can beat stephens he is for real. If he can't you are wasting your time and money!

I think he's fighting on the undercard to the Adamek fight next weekend.

I think he wins that fight. Stevens is no Mike Tyson but I hear the other guy isn't all that. Stevens has real punching power, just never developed the rest of his game.

I think Curtis Stevens trains at Coney Island Boxing.

Agreed, he's just real raw...but it holds the old addage, you can teach a guy with power to reform technique...but you cannot teach a guy with technique true power...true power, like Stevens has..

Stevens has always been one of my faves to watch on the local circuit. I've seen him live a few times and he's always in a war. He would be best served to drop down to 160 IMO.

For sure. Crowds love fighters like him...he is most definately TV friendly.

Another thing about Stevens, having seen him fight in those smaller bouts, I believe one was on Ballroom Boxing...I saw him in an interview, and man, that guy's fist is the size of mine and he's so much smaller than me! He has huge fists and wrists. His hands are hams..
