Erik Morales quit in the fight but he had nothing left to give. He was done. That doesn't define his career. The same as Cotto quitting against Margarito. He had absolutely nothing left. He couldn't win. The same with Oscar against Pac. He knew he was done. These guys have given great wars no matter if you think they've won or lost certain fights. I personally think Cotto lost to Clottey but I have nothing but respect because he fought through a nasty cut when Robert Guererro decided to call it a night after a much smaller cut.
There's a big difference between guys like Morales and Cotto and Victor Ortiz. Ortiz didn't take near the punishment that these guys took and was nowhere nearly as out of the fight and he refused to grab his balls and try. He was afraid to be beaten up and basically admitted that he quit because didn't want to go out on his back. I still respect him because it takes guts to get in the ring and take a beating that 99% of people will never do. But he will never be a warrior like those other guys. I don't think he has it in him. Anyone posting comments who calls Morales or Cotto a ***** for quitting is a ***** themselves because they would never be able to get in the ring and do what these guys do and take punishment. It's easy to sit behind a computer and call someone who's putting their life on the line a ***** but yet they would never have the heart and balls to get in and do it themselves at a level that these guys do.

in my humble opinion, Erik's win over unfocused Pac who is coming up in weight at 130 for the first time, bleeding badly and fighting with one eye because of a headbutt was a FLUKE.
FLUKE. = A lucky or improbable occurrence, with the implication that the occurrence could not be repeated.
