From 106 to 147...that's a huge difference in weight. That alone itself is pretty amazing. For Pac to win 6 titles in different weight class, that makes it even more mind blowing.

Cotto started his career at light welterweight about 9 years ago which is a step down from what he's currently in.

His signature punch is a liver blow. I rarely have seen Cotto punch low, and especially not consecutively. His opponents all put their pants up a little extra, because they know about his liver shot. I'd put my pants up extra too, if there was a Heavyweight around with that kind of punch and I was in the dressing room...I am not putting you down, I have read a few of your other posts and realize that you seem to love boxing... I just do not agree with the disrespect you show this man. You speak of him like his last name is Golata...

Cotto's left hook to the body is one of the best punches in boxing, and any true fan would and should recognize this. It is a tool that any up-and-comer should train, and get better at it. Because you will eventually fight a guy who can take your best shot upstairs...but what will happen when you touch up his liver? ...Each man's liver is different, some are weaker than others, believe it or not...The only thing you can do to strengthen it, is to not consume lots of painkillers, pills in general, or alcohol....this will weaken a man's liver immensely and make it more susceptible to such a blow.
Look at this clip...just look how after the cross he comes back with the left hook...if you don't think that's beautiful, then you cannot be a true fan! And I know you are a true fan, by looking at your other posts! The beauty of Cotto's left hook to the body cannot be denied...having said all that...

I'd bet the farm on Floyd if he fought Paciauo, when Cotto fights Paciauo I'll only bet a week's pay. (On Cotto)

Another great thing about the liver blow is that it is the one punch you will learn in boxing. In the worst case scenario if you have to unleash a shot on someone outside of the ring, a body shot is the best bet, because dental bills are expensive. You hit someone square on the liver, and dig in with all your strength with a bare fist ...I'll tell you exactly what will happen, the guy will stand there for about a minute at a ninety degree angle holding his stomach, and then, if he's eaten anything in the last three hours, puke, after about a minute or two of holding his stomach...

Don't go looking for trouble outside the ring but I'm just saying, if a worst case scenario happens and you have to defend yourself, applying the liver blow is the best bet. (It's the only shot I've ever thrown outside the ring,[one time] that I learned in the ring.) There's less dirt involved with a good body shot. You hit someone in the face with even a jab and cut them, or knock their teeth out...I hope you can pay for those nasty medical bills.

I'm pretty sure Paciauo is a natural lefty. Cotto has shown more trouble with southpaws than with orthodox fighters, but this is expected for most boxers. I remember him getting knocked down by Demarcus 'Chop Chop' Corely, a southpaw not known for his power, but if I remember correctly it was a temple blow. Cotto was a little wobbly for awhile but worked out of it. If that same blow occurred and Corely had serious power and a killer instinct, Cotto may have been knocked out. Paciauo definately has that power, and killer instinct. I still pick Cotto to win, but like I said...I'll bet a week's pay on Cotto fighting Pac, but I'd bet my house on Floyd if he fought Pac.

Sad that Mayweather v Pacman won't most likely happen and good for Cotto.

most of the boxers here in philippines star at a lower weight, and it's not supprising that he can gain more weight specially now that he got a lot of money to spend for foods not like b4 when he's starting....lol

cotto will be pac's toughest assignment, but with pac's skills and speed he can out box cotto.
