As Ive said before, I will be so glad if the fight is at WW instead of 43 or 44. Pretty much everyone said that they wont give him credit for the win anyways and I think its much better for his future if this fight is at WW. There is a very high chance that his next fight could be against Mosley or Cotto and I would feel much better about him winning those fights if this fight was at WW. If he went down to 143 and then had to fight those big powerful guys at WW next then that would be super risky.
If the WW thing is true then its understandable from my view. We already saw the interview he did years ago when he said that a guy coming off a long layoff will find it very hard to immediatly make that same weight again. He's definatly not a big guy but I could see his body having some problem getting down in his very 1st fight back after a 2 year layoff and trying to go down in weight. On top of that he now has a rib injury which maybe they think hurts his ability to workout as much to get down in weight since the date is so close. Besides, have you guys seen JMM lately? Dude looks bigger than Floyd. He looks like a real WW damn near. Nacho talking about Floyd at 160 is funny considering the main reason why they are willing to fight him is because he always comes into the ring between 146-148 pounds. With that being said, Ive said on here a million times that I wish Floyd would come into the ring at 155 or more because then I know that he would blow through the WW's.
I think they now realize that there next fight is either going to be at WW against Cotto or Mosley, or its going to be against Pac at 145 so they should stay as close to WW as possible. It will be easy for them to lose the 2 pounds to get to WW but it will be hard for him to beat JMM at 143 and then fight a big WW in his next fight. I could see him pot shotting and moving alot because the difference will be such a shock to him. Thats why I think he should make this fight at WW. People are going to rip him for it anyways. I think its still legit. JMM is definatly not the only fighter to have to do that, yet everyone makes it seem that way. I do kind of agree with Roach though when he said that Floyd could make 140 easily but he's just lazy. I dont think he's lazy in the normal sense but I do think that he's not going to do anything to stretch his body any. I think he's always going to fight near his walk around weight and feel comfortable. He doesnt want to hurt his body in any way. Its a good thing because he wont be punch drunk like alot of former boxers and he will always be in top health. It will almost be like he never even was a boxer which is awesome. The bad is that he doesnt get down to his best fighting weight and he doesnt fight to his best ability since he's not in the best possible fighting size. However, maybe it will all start to workout in the end and he will become naturally bigger, stronger, and faster at WW then most guys his age end up being.
I also think its funny how everyone contradicts themselves about the money. Everyone is clowning him now because they say that he came back because he's broke and needs the money but those are the same people that said that its funny how he retired when Margarito & Cotto wanted to fight him but he's back now with Pac on top. Which one is it? Did he come back because Margarito & Cotto arent on top or did he come back for the money. If he's coming back for the money then that actually makes it look better for him when it comes to the haterz because maybe he still wouldve legitmatly stayed retired if he had money so you couldnt say that he only came back because the big threats are gone
