I really doubt a LIGHTWEIGHT could hurt PBF's ribs...seriously, how the hell could he leave himself that wide open against an AMATUER

it happens it's boxing....just cause hes a lightweight don't mean he can't hit hard. floyds defense isn't THAT hard to get through

Plus I spared four six minute rounds with him and after the session with me he still hasn’t got back into the ring. I was the last man he sparred. I had to wait for a week to see if was ready to spar again but was then told the fight was called off. You can draw your own conclusions.”

It's a good story but anyone can injure anyone in boxing. It's not a big deal in my opinion. Also this kid is 25 and he wants to wait until 2012 to go pro? That's a big mistake.

Or he injured it doing something else... the guy said "I was the last guy to spar with him and then later on I heard the fight was postponed cause he injured his ribs" (something along those lines).

"I aint saying I injured his ribs and I aint saying I didn't either, all I am saying is I am a devastating body puncher" (something along those lines).

Your telling me that's good enough? Do you believe it when (either Shaefer or Ellerbe, can't remember which) said he damaged his cartilage training really hard to try to please the fans, saying he worked harder than usual and ended up injuring himself? As I have already said the reports say it is cartilage damage on his ribs not broken ribs... that doesn't necessarily have to happen in sparring.

There is no proof about ticket sales being bad, just rumors and reports... what we say are just our assumptions, I mean these reports could be true I aint saying they are not... but all I am saying is don't you think we should wait for some more concrete info before opening our mouths and jumping to conclusions.

PM me details on where we should meet and we will get the job done!

We will see who has the injured ribs soon.

I agree with this partially, Floyd has the best defense in Boxing today (or did before retirement) and it was common that he had a great defensive style that makes hard to hit.

But I agree with the part where you said just cause he is a lightweight doesn't mean he can't ht hard... ribs are ribs and just cause it is Floyd Mayweather doesn't mean his ribs are made out of steel, however I am unsure about it cause the reports have been saying he has cartilage damage on his ribs, not broken ribs.

This is from a guy called "Sinister" on Sherdog.net. I believe they are good buddies and i believe everything he has said about this (sparring, etc) to be true.

"BTW fellas, Rodge got the job. Here's the description, I'm not going to try and type the **** as he said it as it'd drive me bananas:

                  - Show up at MBC, told Floyd wasn't sparring. Sit around for a few minutes until Floyd actually arrives and begins to train a bit. Garcia Jr. asks Floyd if he wants to give Rodge a shot, Floyd says "sure, why not"...Rodge told to gear up, no warm-up, just get the gear on and get in the ring.

                  - Round 1: 5 minutes. Floyd goes right at Rodge, everyone outside shouting that Rodge is just an Amateur, that he doesn't deserve to be there, that he's gonna get knocked out. Floyd lands pretty much everything at will.

                  - Round 2: 5 minutes. Repeat of round 1 basically, only Rodge makes a point not to take a backwards step. Has sampled Floyd's power and doesn't believe Floyd can knock him out. The belief part is probably most of that, but you can rest assured Rodge has a head made of stone.

                  - Round 3: 5 minutes. Rodge throws back more at Floyd, the yelling and taunting gets under his skin a bit and he says to Floyd "is that all yeh got!?" Says in hindsight he probably shouldn't have said that as Floyd started to really lay into him.

                  - Round 4: 6 minutes. They stand toe-to-toe and go punch for punch. Rodge says again that he makes a point not to take a backwards step or show any sign of pain despite it's presence. Says he's shocked at Floyd's fitness, and the quality at which he spars.

In the end Floyd says Rodge is one of the craziest and toughest SOB's he's met in a while, and offers him a full time job as a sparring partner. And he uses Rodge last on sparring days (I think there's two other guys in the Camp as well). We went out Saturday night to celebrate, and Rodge had a black eye, and Floyd re-busted his nose from when Gamboa busted it last year. So Rodge sounds like Jim Carrey did in "Me, Myself, and Irene." Mind-you he wears Winning's face-saver headgear, and still got his nose busted. That thing's like a crash helmet."

that doesn't sound AT ALL like what happened.

This thread is like a bunch of NFL groupies on a fan board being surprised that a football player got a concussion.
