    Details on the sparring.

This is from a guy called "Sinister" on Sherdog.net. I believe they are good buddies and i believe everything he has said about this (sparring, etc) to be true.

"BTW fellas, Rodge got the job. Here's the description, I'm not going to try and type the **** as he said it as it'd drive me bananas:

    - Show up at MBC, told Floyd wasn't sparring. Sit around for a few minutes until Floyd actually arrives and begins to train a bit. Garcia Jr. asks Floyd if he wants to give Rodge a shot, Floyd says "sure, why not"...Rodge told to gear up, no warm-up, just get the gear on and get in the ring.

    - Round 1: 5 minutes. Floyd goes right at Rodge, everyone outside shouting that Rodge is just an Amateur, that he doesn't deserve to be there, that he's gonna get knocked out. Floyd lands pretty much everything at will.

    - Round 2: 5 minutes. Repeat of round 1 basically, only Rodge makes a point not to take a backwards step. Has sampled Floyd's power and doesn't believe Floyd can knock him out. The belief part is probably most of that, but you can rest assured Rodge has a head made of stone.

    - Round 3: 5 minutes. Rodge throws back more at Floyd, the yelling and taunting gets under his skin a bit and he says to Floyd "is that all yeh got!?" Says in hindsight he probably shouldn't have said that as Floyd started to really lay into him.

    - Round 4: 6 minutes. They stand toe-to-toe and go punch for punch. Rodge says again that he makes a point not to take a backwards step or show any sign of pain despite it's presence. Says he's shocked at Floyd's fitness, and the quality at which he spars.

In the end Floyd says Rodge is one of the craziest and toughest SOB's he's met in a while, and offers him a full time job as a sparring partner. And he uses Rodge last on sparring days (I think there's two other guys in the Camp as well). We went out Saturday night to celebrate, and Rodge had a black eye, and Floyd re-busted his nose from when Gamboa busted it last year. So Rodge sounds like Jim Carrey did in "Me, Myself, and Irene." Mind-you he wears Winning's face-saver headgear, and still got his nose busted. That thing's like a crash helmet."

And no, I am not Floyd's accountant. I was, however, aware of this situation before these articles sprang up. I have no agenda, and I am not trying to hype anyone. I am just saying the Rodge was paid a good deal of money for the sparing, and was paid as Floyd's primary sparring partner for a reason.
Full time amatuers also have jobs to support themselves. Pro fighters at the lower levels have to fight and work to survive. There is no full time amateur getting payed enough to make a living please stop your getting worse by the post. And I will repeat Amateurs don't get paid for fighting so please shut up. The International Amateur Boxing Association allows you get sponsors to help cover expenses it does not allow amateurs to get paid for sparring or fights. Once you get paid for these types of things you are now considered a Professional. and logic will tell you no world class fighters is going to pay a ***en amateur to spar with them.

It is possible because anyone can get hit although it is difficult to hit Floyd. It is unlikely though and anyone who thinks he can hit Mayweather's body easy has just eaten some mushrooms. Hitting the body can not be used as a strategy with Floyd, you do it after trying to go to the head just like you would anyone else.

It's obvious, you can tell by just the last paragraph, and especially the last line that it is just a hype article trying to make the fight seem like it will be a close affair instead of a genuine WW going up against a 36 year old SFW or small lightweight.

'I think the fight just got a little bit more interesting'?

C'mon, give us a break. Who was paid to write this crap?

They can get paid for sparring. Certainly not fighting. It is not very often they will, but they can.
