    Pelenchin targets Juanma!

    Pelenchin targets Juanma!

IBF/WBA super bantamweight champion champion Celestino Caballero has demanded a showdown with WBO champion Juan Manuel Lopez. “I understand the business of boxing and I know that Lopez’ promoter has a plan for him that involves everybody but me,” said Caballero. “But if what I believe is true, Lopez wants more than easy fights; he wants to be the best in the world. The only way he can leave the super bantamweight division as the best is to beat me. There’s a lot of talk of Lopez being the next Wilfredo Gomez. Well, Lopez has to remember that Gomez didn’t move up to featherweight until he cleaned out everyone at 122 pounds. I guess we’ll find out soon if Lopez has ‘Bazooka’s fighting spirit. I traveled to Canada to beat Molitor, to Venezuela to beat (Lorenzo) Parra, Thailand to beat (Somsak) Sithchatchawal, and California to beat (Daniel) Ponce De Leon. To be a true world champion you must fight around the world, even if it means going to your opponent’s backyard. I will go to Puerto Rico to fight Lopez with no problem, and by the end of the fight, the fans will be cheering me when my hand is raised.”

I don't understand how anyone could like Arum's ways... I don't care how many stars he built, his matchmaking building them sucks... we have to endure years of borring fights to finally get one or two that are worth it... First he killed Gamboa vs Caballero, which was almost a done deal since both sides wanted it... And now that it won't happen Caballero is calling Juanma and that Arum ****** won't allow it neither... I prefer to see Gamboa vs Juanma after both of them cleared their respective divisions, not after both of them KOd 6 other bums. I don't care if one of them has to lose in the meantime (which won't happen). He plays it too safe with his fighters and I hate that. I prefer the old Arena ways when Oner didn't think too much about matching his fighters vs strong opponents, and just did it.

Why is Arum so scared? Because Caballero is tall? I'm not that impressed. He's just freakishly tall for the division with an awkward style and decent power. Nothing to be scared of imo. Moliter just wasn't that good. Made him look like a beast.

Well said. Comparisons between Juanma & Gomez are utterly ridiculous at this point
