Did you even watch the fight? The first 3 rounds were feeling each other out, I mean jesus he knocked the guy down in the first with a jab. The 4th round Cotto threw 77 punches, how do you do that backing up? The 6th round he threw 90+ and had Clottey IN the corner for over a minute just as Jim Lampley stated in the commentary. He started boxing the last half of the fight when he was getting bombarded with right rights because he couldn't see out of one eye. As someone stated, he is getting HELL for WINNING a close fight, apparently if Cotto doesn't KO you he loses the fight, talking about putting pressure on someone.Comment

What is Cotto so scared of all of a sudden?
He seems so apprehensive to throw his hands how he used to? It's not like he got hit with a flash KD or KO'd by someone for him to be so worried about getting taken out by one punch.
Maybe he is trying to not take so many shots but it didn't seem like that in the Clottey fight. His defense still isn't where it needs to be for him to be "the ****" officially. Pacquiao is going to capitalize on his inability to stop uppercuts and will make him pay if he doesn't cover up.
It is aggrivating as **** to see people land the same punch on him back to back to back and he just can't seem to grasp how to stop it or where its even coming from.
So what has Cotto so shook? Has he seen a ghost?Comment

I think every fight is different. Clottey has the tendency of making people look bad and has a very good shell he hides behind.
I didn't see Cotto gun shy, I just saw him having trouble landing the shots he wanted to. Cotto is at his best when coming forward, he has a tough time against preassure fighters, we all know this.
Clottey pressured him but just didn't throw enough punches. Margarito showed that Cotto can be hit with the upper cut but that's because of Cotto's hieght and the way he holds his hands to defend himself.
That's why all bull**** aside, I think Cotto needs a different trainer. Someone like Nacho to school him the the defensive aspects of the game and bring out the best in him before it's too late.
No dissrespect to the trainer he has now but I think Cotto has the skills to be a pound4pound fighter, he just can't wait too late in his career.Comment

If he doesn't like being pressured why didn't he make it a point to come forward? He backed up the entire fight to a point where I was genuinely annoyed at what I was watching. What the **** kind of Terminator body destroyer backs up for 12 rounds. ****ed up eye or not atleast make an effort to punish the dude in front of you.
Yes I know he was in survival mode but he wasn't trying to put Clottey away at any point really except for when Clottey was covering up with both hands and not throwing at all. Mind you I do think he won that fight I was just disappointed in him not being the same old Cotto really.Comment
