Let's be honest, Tua had the power to hurt Briggs and a chin to take monstrous shots. Tua had this fight offered to him for good money back in 06. He pulled out, telling Shannon that Briggs had been too busy while David was just coming back off that managerial forced layoff. The fight never materialized after that. Briggs got his shot at Liakhovich, while Tua was having trouble with fringe guys. Briggs has good speed and very good power, but not enough to put Tua away. However, Briggs' chin is better than people think. He was never trully stopped. His loss to Darroll Wilson was because he was an overconfident kid who blew his load and gave up. His stoppage loss to Lennox Lewis was a bit premature. Sure he was being bounced off the canvas like a yo-yo, but it was a wild swing and miss that thrwe him off-balance that got the fight stopped. He wasn't really hurt at that moment. Briggs could get buzzed rather easily from his chin, but he recovered remarkably well every time he was buzzed. He was never cold-****ed took a lot of big shots because he never realized that you could block punches with your gloves instead of your face. Oh btw, current fight, Briggs takes Tua even though he hasn't fought in 2 years. But late 90's versions of Tua and Briggs, gotta go with Tua.
