Both fights would be sold out in tickets IMO, Mayweather vs Pacquiao will be more successful in finances though cause it would do better PPV's.

it would be a very optimistic thought but i really doubt it.

Mayweather is a bigger name than cotto and pacman v. mayweather would be a bit more of a high-profile mega fight...

pacman v. cotto will be big with pacman fans and the more devoted boxing fans that follow guys like cotto.

Not to say cotto has no star power (look what he does in MSG almost every year as of late) but mayweather is clearly a bigger name.

and since mayweather went out on a two year layoff on top with still no losses and was viewed the best fighter at that time people will buy the tickets to see if pacman can beat him. Thats one thing mayweather has going for him; as long as he's ****y and still undefeated people will flock to see him...people will pay to watch him fight...

cuz they will want to see him fall.

however i think as far as us boxing fans are concerned cotto v. pacman would be more of an exciting fight than pacman v. mayweather. mayweather will try to keep the fight slow and make it almost feel as if its dragging on...

in many of his more recent fights mayweather wants to control the tempo and keep it slow. guys like hatton, de la hoya, etc. are always the aggressors...pushing the action...making the fight.

with cotto v. pacman you shouldnt have to worry about whether or not they will mix it up. thats most of what i'd expect from that fight.

i'd expect pacman v. mayweather to look like a usual mayweather fight...mayweather being the smart boxer...using good defense...countering on pacman's mistakes (since pacman lacks in the defensive area his offense is his defense) etc. while pacman tries to get inside on mayweather and go to work.

i think it would look a lot like de la hoya v. mayweather. something like that.

but as far as the ticket sales would go...names alone...

pacman v. mayweather is today what holyfield v. tyson were in terms of star power...its the biggest fight (in my opinion) that can be made currently in all of boxing.

cotto isnt a pushover in terms of star status but mayweather is the bigger more recognized name.

Assuming Pac over Cotto, Floyd v Pac will be a far bigger fight.
