Its a ole saying in the gym meaning ..People usually remember your last fight and how you performed. Doesn't necessary mean a fighter cant bounce back.

But he wouldnt be. Mayweather is an easier fight.

Roach has even said it himself

imo i think roach meant it would be a safer fight for manny unlike a dangerous fighter in cotto or mosley who are powerful punchers and put on 10 to 13 pounds overnight

          O.K

For arguments sake lets switch Cotto's and Pacquiao's last 2 opponents...

          Cotto faced Hatton

          And Pacquiao faced Clottey.

Who would be coming off the impressive win then?

Well out of the three I like his chances against Cotto the most, in terms of a win. I think he'll have to take some sort of damage from Cotto and Shane.

With Cotto there is an opening for Pacquiao to attack. And Cotto has been in wars 3 out of his last 4 fights. So at some point it will get to him fighting at such a high level.

With Shane, we know one thing his chin is rock solid. Pacquiao could run around the ring and evade Shane. But if he can't get away and stands there toe to toe with Shane he will be cooked.

With Mayweather he'd definitely have to fight a different pace and watch for sharp counters. That fight would be tough mentally not so much physically.

In essence at a healthy weight all of these fights are difficult for Pac. I personally think his best chance is Cotto. I just think that his speed, power, and new found head movement could get him a W over Cotto.

cotto should've Ko'd margarito then. Mosley is a better fighter than he was against cotto in NOV, stylisitcally mosley would be tougher than cotto. He's more explosive, quicker, doesn't wilt or fade, doesn't cut, and he has more power.
