That's a horrible comparison. The Corrales and Castillo fights were on HBO not PPV! Floyd was an up and coming fighter at the time and not yet an established big name. The Solis fight did MAYBE 100k and Diaz was just over 200k. Floyd still probably made more in those fights than Pac did in his PPV fights, but you can't compare a 23 or 24 year old Mayweather against a 27-29 year old Pacquiao. Compare the stages in their careers as far as longevity, not weights because Floyd was much younger in his career at 130 and 135.

Yes Floyd drew his biggest numbers against DLH and Hatton but De La Hoya and Hatton drew their biggest numbers against Floyd and that says something. If Pac and De La Hoya are BOTH bigger draws as people are saying than combining them should have DESTROYED numbers that Mayweather created with him. Same with Hatton but they didn't. Mayweather did better numbers with both of those guys. That's an obvious FACT. They both had 24/7 in all those fights. Hatton deserves only little credit for the US PPV numbers agains Floyd. He had never been on PPV, even against Tszyu and wasn't a big name in US. Those numbers were because Mayweather became a star after the De La Hoya fight. Hatton became big here after the Mayweather fight which contributed to the success of Pac/Hatton. Hatton deserved credit for ticket sales because his fans came over but Mayweather/Hatton sold out in less than 30 minutes and Pac/Hatton did not!!!!!!!!

I will say this. Pac likely has more fans than Mayweather but Mayweather is the bigger name. People pay to see him lose so even if the paying fans are rooting against him they're paying to see him. He's done one hell of a job as marketing himself as the bad guy and people pay to see him get put on his ass.

This is not true! At the time Pac vs DeLa Hoya fight we were in a full recession (12-8-08). When Floyd vs Mayweather happened there were no recession in sight. that played a big part in the numbers. Same thing with the Hatton fight.

In terms of PPV Floyd is the biggest draw followed by Pac

In terms of tickets its Cotto and Pac

Hatton and DLH are the biggest draws in the sport by a mile
Keep in mind when Zab fought Floyd he was just recently coming off of being the unified and widely recognized best welterweight in the world minus the let down against Baldomir. When he fought Cotto he was coming off a years suspension and had been out of our imagination for a while. Big difference guys.
