Does any one know how to slow fighters down on FNR4

I love this game and I mainly use Miguel Cotto. The problem I have is that when Im fighting opponents I have a hard time with my defense. My CPU opponent always lands 60-80 % of their punches on me. Also I usually have been tagged over 350 times by round.

My offense and counter punching is not a problem...my biggest thing is that when I fight middleweights like Winky, Monzon, and WW's like Hearnes, I cant slow them down. I tried bob n weave, Pot shotting, jabbing, and circling away from there power hand. What eventually happens is that they eventually find me and impose their will on me. I try blocking but its hard win your opponent throws over 100 punches a round and barely looses stamina in the process.

BTW im playing on G.O.A.T. I would turn the cpu punch output down but I feel like thats a cop out. Anybody have any tips on slowing down these guys and improving my defense so they dont land god-like connect percentages?

That's really the only thing I can think of man, lowering the CPU output. I know it feels like a cop out, and I havn't tried it yet myself man, but if you're playing on GOAT maybe you're entitled to try it lol.

Lowering the output isnt necessarily a cheesy thing to do. A lot of the time us gamers tweak the sliders to find the most accurate version of the sport. Its like when NBA 2K9 came out, everyone blasted the way the game was and made their own sliders.

Maybe give it a shot for a fight atleast on FIGHT NOW mode and see how it goes pal.

Some people are recommending bring output to 20% and boxer speed to 30% for an accurate simulation. If you feel guilty, you can always put boxer power higher to balance the equation

I play on G.O.A.T. too, what works for me is to give the "CPU" different looks. example [ throw 3 punch combo then back out, do the same but a different 3 punch combo than the first one, bob and weave, block high and low when pulling out of a combo you just landed, this confuses the CPU and makes it hesitate weather to throw a low or high punch . pick him [CPU] apart. Cotto is a beast on this game.

man ive tried that. I play against winky and he just stalks me down like margarito did cotto in real life. I let him come to me and catch him with uppercuts if he is crouching. Then on the outside I right hook and move away from his left hand. I even mix it up and try to **** on the inside. Ive tried every thing but the workrate with lack of loosing energy is what kills me. If i could slow the fight down I would crush him easily.
