victor ortiz didnt quit, he made the wrong choice

victor is what i would call a front-runner, in every boxers career there is a time when you are getting beat-up and you want to be anywhere else than in the ring at that moment. so many things run thru your head at that time but true fighters always no matter what belive "if i can just hold out a little longer i will be alright" even if they wont be. anyone can fight on top thats easy, but real fighters can and do fight from the bottom. victor has the dog in him you could see it in his face after the last knock-down, i have seen it all my boxing life guys with all skills and no will and no trainer is going to change that. just like my first trainer always said "tuff times dont last but tuff people do" but at least he made a little money. i wish him luck he seems like a good kid, but as a fighter he is done because making that choice the first time is hard but after that its very easy to make that same choice again

Hmm, interesting. You might be right about that... I hope not because he seems like a good kid. Time will tell

He just didn't box smart. I think he'll be back, I just think he was upset about losing and did expect to be in a war like that. He prob let everything get to his head. I mean they kid was on his way to being a superstar. I dunno if he has it or not. But he needs to get back in the gym and just erase that from his memory.

i understand your view but the truth is he will never forget, that choice will live with him for the rest of his life. now mind you i could never truly understand the pressure he was under with him being "the next big thing" but all he had to do was to keep on fighting and he came up with a reason not to. what i do know is this i remember fights and choices i made even when i was boxing at the age of 8, some were good and some not so good but i never made the choice to stop fighting

Steve Forbes just Crushed Ortiz on the radio.

He said as a fellow fighter it makes him sick...How Ortiz behaved after the fight and the interview.

Nah to me what was worst than his quitting was the interview. "I'm young and don't deserve to be getting beat up like that"? Like wtf, why are you fighting then? Become a ballerina or some ****, this is the hurt business as Mike Tyson used to say.

i think what makes this whole scenario so bad for ortiz is the interview after the fight was over. he simply sounded like hes done with boxing. afraid of ending like ali????? shiet he wishes he could achieve what ali did....
