I think the key thing here is that he wasn't vicious Yet. At a couple months, a Pitbull pup isn't ready to take down a teenage German Sheppard. However, you give that Pit a chance to mature and the Sheppard will quit on his stool.

Honestly this Madina dude (prob spelt wrong) i had never heard of him but when i checked his record was like 25-1 and 23-24 ko, i was like wtf!!!

Were has this guy been hiding.. did not even know who he was untill the week before the fight. Why Valero getting so much hype and this guy not?

Maidana doesn't look badass, isn't infamous for his one punch power(atlest I don't think he was,) didn't have the interesting backstory of a failed brainscan, and unlike Valero he doesn't have a bunch of cool youtube clips for kids to jizz over. College kids tell their friend check out this sick knockout, they then tell that friend he fell off a motorcycle/failed a brainscan and shouldn't be fighting. Next thing you know he's more popular than Maidana.

Yeah, I actually meant to mention that Valero somehow pulled off the Kimbo-youtube effect. Maidana doesn't have the proper mystique/built in lore to go with his KO ratio.. Rumor has it Valero hurts his sparring partners! OMG I bet he'd kill Pac & Marquez. Wait.. Neither of them wants to fight Valero? They must fear his power! Imaginations are crazy.
