    golden boy promotions

the hbo deal has hurt the sport but outside of mosley and one of the greatest b-hop who do they have

oscar cant fight anymore he is done
    ortiz is a flop
    kirkland is lock up
so did hbo blow it and is top rank more deserving of the contract

i personally think that a contract like gbp and hbo agree upon has no place in boxing and a network should keep open dates for fights that the people want to see , furthermore why would you try this knowing pacman cotto and the list goes on are on top rank.........i think it was negligence on hbo's part!!!!!!

HBO shouldn't pre-allocate the fight dates to any promoter. TR or GBP included.

There are top fighters with various different promoters. Promoters who actually build fighters careers from 0-0 through world title fight not just pay a signing bonus to buy a fighter after he has been built. HBO should not be affiliated with any promoter. Their singular goal should be to put on the most marketable fight to interest and build future and existing boxing fans.

Side question. What successful boxer has GBP ever built?

in hindsight it was a poor decision, that said, GBP are the only promotional company that really try and make the fights that people wanna see.

TR is developing JML real good, but arum won't put JML in w/ cabellero. its pretty sad.

HBO has shot themself in the foot bigtime by goin exclusive with Golden Boy for 2009...

I mean i go to www.GoldenBoyPromotions.com and it is hard to find HBO caliber fighters on their roster given DLH is done, Hopkins, Mosley, Winky are on their way out, soon to be followed by JMM and Hatton probably...

what is left of their new school?? not much considering the sad flop of Ortiz, and Kirklands legal situation, and Escobedo never lived up to his promise...

can Juan Diaz, Ghost Guerrero, Rocky Juarez, Israel Vasquez carry Golden Boy through the end of the year on HBO?? will be tough.
