Eric Gomez from GBP might be the absolute worst matchmaker in the country. He consistently gets the young fighters beat. GBP gets the TV dates but does not have any fighters to put in those dates. Schaefer can't spell boxing and the company as a whole does not have one clue how to promote. They let HBO do the promoting for them and sit back and collect green. Now it gets worse they have Shelly "Fink" Finkel funneling them fighters. How do you think Ortiz left Top Rank? Shelly had him file bankruptcy, thus making his deal with Top Rank void and enabling "Fink" to bring him the GBP for more green.

In terms of match making top rank is still better. In terms of developing a fighters career top rank is so much better than gbp. In terms of overhyping fighters GBP>top rank.
