Fighting with one eye is expected of boxers...You get cut you fight on...If that was Barrera in there and they tried to end it over a cut he would throw a **** fit.

I also know of one Caribbean islander that fought recently with one eye against a top 5 WW and doesn't get much credit for it.

As a united front, De La Hoya, Schaefer and Ortiz addressed the controversy of whether Ortiz quit or the fight stopped by the attending physician due to the cut above his right eye.

I can't really say Ortiz didn't fight a brave fight, despite the fact that he quit. He battled all the way until he was finished. Sometimes to me what's more cowardly are these fighters like Cory Spinks, Steven Luevano, and Miguel Cotto (Yeah, I said it) just try to fight to the finish line to protect their lead by engaging their opponent as little as possible. Ortiz didn't do that, but he tarnished the fight in a different way.
