Victor Ortiz QUIT. Should he Quit boxing?

Listen.. We're boxing fans and we have an opinion. I don't see anyone on here saying we know what it feels like to be punched in the ring. Boxing is a BRUTAL sport. Ortiz knew that when he signed his multimillion dollar contract. There is always a chance someone is better then you or has your number and you can take a beating but that's the nature of the sport. To me if you can dish it out you should be able to take what's coming back at you. Like the old saying goes... If you can't take the heat then get the **** out of the kitchen. I did think Ortiz fought bravely in a few rounds when he was faced with adversity but bottom line in the end he quit. I was puzzled by his words in the post fight interview with Max Kellerman when he said he can't be getting beat up like this. Newsflash Victor... You're not guarenteed to win every fight and your'e not guarenteed to be the one brutalizing your opponents. Now that the shoe is on the other foot we know his true colors. Just like a few posters wrote on here Imagine if EVERY boxer quit because he didnt wanna get beat up. Who the hell would watch boxing? I respect Victors choice for not wanting to be beat up and getting seriously injured but I also think he should quit boxing if he thinks he should just get to beat people up and not get beat up himself and quit when the roles are reversed.

No, he still has lots of potential. He didn't really quit, he was cut and badly hurt.

He took a lot of hard rabbit punches in the fight last night. We don't want him to end up like Gerald McClellan, do we?

Sorry but he quit like cotto did in margarito fight and i'm a cotto fan. But.....he should not quit boxing, he needs to look hard inside himself and ask himself if he loves boxing and feels he can try it once again. I bet that's what cotto did and he is okay right now. Will cotto or ortiz quit again? Noone knows except ortiz and cotto. Trust me, we'll see ortiz at the top of the game again but he needs to challenge the tough fighters and not cherry pick fighters like some fighters do.
