I'm taking Gamboa. I enjoy watching him fight. Reminds me of RJJ in a way.

However, Gamboa's chin gets touched waaaay too much and southpaws are always weird to fight. So it could go either way

JuanMa would have no problem hitting Gamboa, and he punches very hard.

we know Gamboa can be put down

match that fact with Lopez's power and you got a bad combo for Gamboa

i like both fighters, but Gamboa's nasty habit of leaving his hands down would lead to him getting hit with something wicked that ends the fight

Gamboa would be in trouble, I think that is a bad match up for him... And I like Gamboa.

Gamboa is really exciting to watch, blindingly fast but he has a habit of running in with his chin exposed. Lopez is far more composed and would pick him off on the counter

Gamboa could possibly pull off an upset in my eyes. Juanma is being hyped up too much for my liking right now without facing top competition. The guy that he fought last night had a decent record but who had he faced? Juanma is fast becoming another unbeatable figure, the light at the end of the tunnel for boxing so to speak, without facing the top boxers that are respected by top commissions.....NABA title, lets be real about it.

We all saw last night what can happen when a guy that HBO promotes heavily for their fights faces a legitimate step up in competition. Before the fight, no one thought that anyone out there could have a chance against Ortiz and he was some unstoppable beast. The same thing is being done for Juanma as well as Velero. These guys are facing obscure, international boxers unknown to the American audiences or elderly, past-their-prime boxers and being portrayed by HBO as the new face of boxing despite never being clearly tested.

I have seen Gamboa several times and Juanma as well. Juanma does really well when the other guy stands there in front of him and trades with hm but I don't think that Gamboa will do that. I believe that he could outbox, not outslug Juanma by using angles and counters. I don't thin that he may knock him out but I believe he could win a UD and then it would be just another case of a potential larger-than-life star being grounded in reality after a tough loss.

No one is unbeatable so to pretend that he is untouchable is only setting him up for failure when he underestimates the next guy assuming every fight will be a cakewalk (not saying that he will underestimate the "next guy"); eventually the TV hype goes to their heads and they start to feel invincible.

juan ma is stalking the 2 hall of fame 122 pounders. he's been trying to get a fight with izzy & raffa for the longest. i think rafa has already moved up to 126, i doubt he goes up any higher. so juan ma will only move up to 126 once izzy does too.

gamboa can beat anybody at 126, he can also lose to any of the stars because of his defense & lack of technique.
