Honesty doesn't always come out as beautiful as we'd like. We'd respect him more, as a fanbase if he had lied a little bit. If he had said, 'I know it, I can't take anymore, I'd die in there.' and it was believable enough, that'd be fine. But, instead, he was honest. It's a damn shame that the sword you don't use will often times cut your throat.
