    Maidana = Next Manny Pacquiao

    A talented fighter who comes out of nowhere to blow the upper echelon of the sport out of the water.

    A win over Kotelnik.. Don't care what nobody says, he won that fight. WATCH IT BEFORE SPEAKING, BTW. He outworked Kotelnik once realizing that power punching wouldn't cut it. That shows the variety that he has in his game. He can swamp you if the power approach doesn't work.

    Against Ortiz, he buckled down and showed more heart than you could ask of any fighter. And in the end he BROKE Ortiz's will. As for his knockdowns.. they were beautifully timed. His timing is the best in the sport.

    I have high hopes for Maidana. He'll continue on this path just as Pac did once he won. People will call him limited until he slowly patches up all of the *****s in his armor.

    If you think otherwise, you know nothing about boxing.

        LOL, Maidana was knocked down three times and that wasn't exactly a Barrera-like domination when Pacquiao burst onto the scene.

        I like the optimism and wishful thinking, but no. Just no.

          People who say that never watched Delahoya on the come up- now that was a fighter who looked unstoppable. These days, it's the promotional organizations and the media outlets that sort of push these fighters into your face. They are only considered the next best thing because it is said so damn much.

          But look what happened to media darling Pavlik. Before Pavlik it was Miranda. Before Miranda it was Taylor. Etc, etc.. Boxing is always going to try and force you to believe every fighter you see is the future superstar. But you have to be able to rise above that.

            Time will tell, let him get some tune-ups before taking a big fight though. Work on that footwork, defense and boxing more. Could be great for him in the long run.

                Pac burst on to the scene against Ledwaba, you idiot. Only sub-hardcore fans like you are the ones who first heard about him against Barrera.
