Ortiz's interview was one of the most honest I've ever heard...

Admit he got hurt bad, admit he fought dumb, and also, somewhat worryingly, admitted he wasn't going to allow himself to get beat up bad.

Worryingly not for his health, but worryingly for how far he wants to go in his career.

ortiz was very humble in the interview, gave maidana lots of credit , put all the blame on himself (rightfully so) and not his trainers, i guess he was just rushed too soon and needed more experience , he just fought ******ly and rushed in against a big puncher , shouldve kept his guard up and concentrated on his boxing and whenever maidana came in carelessly he should have thrown hard hooks which was giving him success early in the fite

Forget the fight, that interview should have been stopped. They could've spinned it and said that the fight got stopped on cuts and Ortis wanted to continue BUT lil Victor openly admitted that he pulled a No Mas.

He killed his fanbase with that statement.

definetly one of the most cowardly, that's a career killer, he's gonna need to work very hard to make people forget about the **** he said.

Wasn't it live, though? And we all saw/heard that he wanted out.

Anyway, yeah....the boxing community ain't gonna forgive him for that.

Me? I found myself feeling sympathy for him, and endeared by his honesty.

But the interview, like the fight, just showed his massive inexperience.
