Even in the beat down he got from margarito, it took margarito 11 rds to make cotto give up. I think that defeat was the best thing that could've happened to cotto. It made him patient and he worked on his jab and "boxer" skills, which is evident in fights after that defeat.
i wont say that his defeat from margo was the best that happened to him or gave him any improvements cause after that, he faced a nobody named jennings then struggled against clottey(which is not surprising) i think thats the reason why most fans called him a shot fighter but to honestly tell you, i think cotto is just the same before and after the margarito fight

I'm sorry, lesser fighters have caught pacman on the ropes, only difference is that they were not animals to the body like cotto is. Look at all the pacman fights and you'll see that he gets caught on the ropes but there is a difference between morales, barerra and marquez catching him there and cotto catching him there.....lol....you'll witness it on 11/14. I'm not knocking pacman on his skills but he has taken punishment, as you can see from my avatar by fighters with wayyyyyyyyyyy less power and skills than cotto.

You are right, jennings was just a tuneup but you don't think ANY boxer would've struggled for 10 rds with a headbutt cut that bad?

i didnt say that. being on the ropes is different from being trapped on the ropes. when was the last time you saw pac lean on the ropes and let his opponent **** him? cotto was able to trap clottey on the ropes, when was the last time you saw pac in a situation like clotteys?

You are partly right, I haven't seen an opponent take ADVANTAGE of having pacman by the ropes, seen them take advantage on the inside. Hopefully cotto will take advantage when he does have him by a corner or on the ropes. If not then he'll need to work him in the inside and not be like marquez who rocked him but did not follow up or morales in 1st fight who had him bloodied but stop going forward. These mistakes are what causes these fighters to lose the fights. Seems that fighters admire when they connect with pacman but do not go in for the kill, which you know cotto is go at.

                    Should be a great fight.

Agree and marquez is a very good fighter. I love pacman's speed. My 24 yr old son does not get it and i tell him, pacman throws so many punches that he gets you when you throw one back. That's why you have to try to go to the body when you can and soften him up so instead of throwing so many, it goes down every round. Hopefully he'll be busy trying to protect his body from shots and miguel will then know his shots are working.
