what im trying to say is that they are not the bums that you are portraying them to be. hatton linear champ only defeat against floyd and before that has never looked close to getting beat in his division. oscar had a close fight with floyd and won his following match. marquez was a tough fight so you agree with me that he has not been fighting pushovers, and he won.

discredit pacs opponents all you want but you are discrediting him because he demolished his opponents, and you dont want to beleive that he is that good. delahoya and hatton were supposed to be so much bigger than him, now they are overated wins and bums, get a clue.

HAHA I have to disagree. Hatton was waaay overrated. he almost got KOed by Lazcano and didnt even make it past 2nd round against pacquiao.

It's a fact that during the lead up to Cotto's fight with Mosley that Arum in fact said that he wouldn't let Cotto fight Mayweather because he didn't want to deal with a businessman. Williams and Mayweather are both managed by Al Haymon, and Arum uses him as an excuse not to put Cotto or Margarito in with Williams. I half-way don't blame Arum though. Haymon was a big factor in convincing Floyd to leave Arum. But if you don't think that Arum tried to stop a Cotto-Mayweather fight from happening, then I don't know what to tell you.

Cotto and Mayweather are both to blame for the fight not happening. On one side you had Mayweather in his post fight interview with Hatton say he was going into retirement and he had nothing left to prove. Then Cotto makes a fight that wastes everyone's time with Alfonso Gomez. And in the post-interview of that fight, Steward even complained during the telecast of the aftermath of that fight that Cotto is not doing anything to help build interest in a fight with Mayweather. He should've personally called him out. Of course, the Cotto-Margarito fight was what Arum was angling to, but it's still the idea that Cotto said that it's up to his company regarding who he fights. I'm no Floyd fan as I mentioned earlier. But I look at both sides of the spectrum. And Mayweather was more arrogant about his replies to the media about not fighting worthy contenders, where Cotto never stooped that low. That's the only thing about your post that I agree with. And yeah, I've got my doubts about Pacquiao or Cotto fighting Mayweather. I think Pacquiao would make more of an effort to get it done than Cotto would though.

Lets say for the sake of argument you're correct about Arum and not wanting his guys to fight Mayweather because of his promoter. It makes sense that there was issues with Bob and Cotto for that reason. I'm not going to say that Cotto doesn't want to fight Mayweather he called him out and there is proof of that while Mayweather has flat out refused to fight Cotto. Whatever reason he uses has no difference, he still avoided even the mention of a potential fight with them and he is a douche for it. I never portrayed them as bums, I stated facts and you got the impression that they were. They aren't bums, but they aren't exactly the all-star cast that you want them to be to have your man look like he is the second coming of christ in a boxing ring, he's not. As for DLH, you just completely ignored everything I proved and say "Well he had a close fight and won his next fight." That is your argument, that's the best you can really do? I just told you a guy lost 4 out of his last 6 fights, which he did. Take away the name and do you really thing a guy has a chance against Manny? Also, as stated earlier Diaz outlasted De La Hoya and Hatton, ****, he outlasted Oscar and Hatton COMBINED. That doesn't all go to the skill of Paq there is also a great bearing in terms of the opponents and their condition at the time. Paq is the best fighter in the world right now P4P IMO, however, I am not going to base that because his last three fights were against people that were below the opposition he faced before hand.

Just look at the Morales bouts, the first fight was easily the most challenging for Paq because Morales still had "it" in him, II and III the man got old and was brutally beat down. I'm sorry to tell you but even the best boxers get old at some point and Manny just happened to face 2 of the biggest in their decline. I'm not taking it away from Manny, I'm just not giving him as much credit for beating them as if they were in the prime, which... in Hatton's case even if he was he would have been killed by Manny, just not as quickly.

The fact that Cotto has fought better opposition than Pacquiao has is one of the two reasons why I give him a chance against Pacquiao. Clottey, Margarito, and Mosley > De La Hoya, D. Diaz, and Ricky Hatton. The other thing that works to Cotto's advantage in this fight is the fact that Pacquiao doesn't throw his uppercut that much. People talk about how much Pacquiao has improved as a boxer, but he is pretty much that same attacking swarming fighter he's always been. He just has an improved right hook and he still head hunts and tends to neglect the body even though his body punching has improved over the years. I just think that Pacquiao is going to beat Cotto because he has better stamina and Cotto's punches are not that damaging when he is punching off the back foot even though it can win him rounds. Pacquiao's speed should off set that in my view though. And I don't think Cotto will assume the roll of the aggressor in this fight, despite his size advantage. I could be wrong though.
