No i dont think we saw enough of hamed to judge his chin. In the early days he was hardly ever hit. He didnt like being hit, because his chin didnt like it, and i think Hamed knew it. When he did get hit, he touched the floor against kelly, with nothing type punches really.
I think we can say we have seen more evidence from hatton, that hatton had a good chin. But even his chin is shot to pieces now.
Hamed hid how good his chin was from us, just like RJJ did.Comment

Nah, I disagree. As his career progressed he got hit more, due to a combination of better opposition, a creeping decline in his timing/reflexes -- likely accelerated by an increasing lack of diligence in his training -- and then finally a doomed attempt to conventionalize his style (and also, I think, Naz' tendency to get drunk on the frenzy and buzz of his biggest nights - the Kelley fight especially reminds me of Karate tourneys when I was 11 where 2 kids would just lose their heads and you'd get these, ragged comical scraps as a result, instead of the controlled, precise discipline of Martial Art).No i dont think we saw enough of hamed to judge his chin. In the latter part of his career you see him take punches and take them well, on the occasions he went down he always came up clear-headed. When he touched down it was typically as a result of his awkwardness, being caught leaning back with his chin out or off-balance. Certainly I think he showed enough ability to take a shot, to me, that his chin shouldn't be considered 'suspect'.
Prime Roy never came undone the way Naz did, never showed that raggedness and tendency to get tagged (****iness, not raggedness, put him on the canvas the one time against Del Valle), so I don't think that's a great comparison, either.Last edited by MACAQUEINBLACK; 06-29-2009, 06:16 AM.Comment

Naz can definitely take a punch, He has a better chin than most people think. He gets tag a lot because of his awkward style. Another thing is he has great recovery, Everytime he gets tagged with a big punch he would still be in control of himself.Comment

Hamed took some hits, but all boxers take hits and most dont go down easy. Unless you are a rubbish boxer not high in the rankings. But did Hamed take hits from someone who could ****? Did he face a power puncer ever?
I dont think so.Comment

No it wasnt, not even a little bit. He had a great chin, but had terrible balance due to the way he fought. Naz was never hurt when he went down, he got steraight back up again. And he got that chin tested a lot due to the wreckless way he fought.Comment

Has to be NAZ imo

Agree. His Chin was good but at the latter stages of his career. It was clear had little care in the sport, and went to end the bout quick as possibleComment
