As much as I detest Valuev... this isn't his fault.

The WBA keeps making Ruiz the mandatory without him having to win one relevant bout.

It's the exact same way the WBC has Oleg Maskaev as the next mandatory for Vitali Klitschko. He's done... what since getting crushed by a terrible fighter in Sam Peter? Not a lot.

These sanctioning bodies are at their worst in the HW division.

Just a reminder to all of us how the state of the division would look if Klitschkos weren't around.

This is one of the best assets of the Klitschkos: Their vow to not fight King's fighters.

I disagree. They make Ruiz their default because Valuev failed to convincingly KO him for good.

Ruiz. Coulda shoulda woulda, but didn't.

exactly ^, the Valuev-Ruiz winner for the most part hasn't been overly decisive, so Ruiz stays at or near the top spot in the rankings

and regarding Oleg Maskaev, thought this was old news, but didn't the WBC rule against Maskaev being next in line for Vitali?

I hope he finally does to get Valuev out of the picture.
I think your putting too much stock in what Ruiz almost did

Valuev is a ****ing beast .. over 300 pounds and all that back hair to boot. How will Ruiz over come it.

and even if Ruiz does get by Valuev, the WBA or Valuev's promoters will find some how, some way to match the 2 (Valuev-Ruiz) again, I wouldn't doubt it.

A Ruiz win would likely force a rematch; the vicious cycle known as the WBA nevers ends...

exactly, the only thing that can save us, is a decisive victory and or knockout.
